Amandla Shabaka-Haynes, MD completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Xavier University of Louisiana and her medical training at the Latin American School of Medicine. Dr. Haynes has previously served as Care Coordinator for the Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition, for which she also served 2 years on the board of directors. Her other roles have included Women’s Health Liaison and Outreach Specialist at Bond Community Health Center, Inc. in Tallahassee, FL. Dr. Haynes has sat on a number of community councils and actively supports local programs charged with coordinating practical support to women, children, and families in underserved communities in efforts to address the social determinants of health and equity. Dr. Haynes speaks Spanish fluently and maintains cultural competency standards throughout her interactions with minority communities.

As a resource & referral specialist for the FL BH IMPACT program, Dr. Haynes’ role is to assist in evaluating the mental health, substance use, and other support service needs for providers and their patients struggling with behavioral health issues. She also serves as the liaison for providers and patients in need of community behavioral health resources. Dr. Haynes is on the front-line for this program!
